Tequila and tacos make everything more enjoyable, that’s just a fact. If you could do with a little liquid merriment to get you through your Christmas shopping expeditions, we have some pretty exciting news – the eternally popular Nobby Beach-based taco-slinger MexiCali has popped up at Pacific Fair to fill your summer shopping sprees with bites and merry margis.

According to the sign on the wall, MexiCali Pacific Fair is here for a good time not a long one. Assuming prime position overlooking The Resort (outside H&M), the temporary taqueria has surfaced to save shoppers from the swelter with a breezy, margarita-filled oasis. The menu offers a condensed selection of favourites from its Nobby Beach home, including the street-style corn, chicken drumettes and a gooey four-cheese quesadilla. There are six different taco creations to munch on, ranging from Baja-style fish and grilled halloumi to a summery Moreton Bay bug taco. Rounding out the selection of eats is the mighty nachos, which is the ideal plate to pick at while reassessing who’s on your naughty and nice list.

If all of that shopping has left you feeling parched, you’re in luck – MexiCali is shaking up a stellar selection of sips including four different types of margarita (classic, watermelon, chilli and coconut), house cocktails and frozen jug’aritas, which could make for a pretty fun Christmas Day if you do all of your Christmas shopping after consuming one of those. MexiCali Pacific Fair is open from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm Wednesday to Sunday throughout December.
