Say hello to Bread + Butter’s light and bright little sister, Kirra Sol Cafe

Bread + Butter along the Kirra esplanade is a southern Gold Coast institution. Known for its perfect pizzas, gluttonous gnocchi and killer cocktails, the nighttime haunt has long been a favourite for ravenous locals and visitors alike. Now, it’s time to meet its lighter, brighter (and perkier) little sibling, Kirra Sol Cafe. Here’s everything you need to know …

It’s not often that you glance at a menu and see the most expensive dish for less than $15, but that’s just one of the many reasons you need to add Kirra Sol Cafe to your hit list, stat. Owned by Bread + Butter’s Jorge Mauleon, Kirra Sol is the newly launched daytime offering from the team. By day, the venue is a light and bright eatery that slings Social Espresso coffee alongside fresh pastries and sweets. Those in the mood for something a little more substantial can tuck into toasties loaded with bacon-and-egg, bolognese and baked beans, and for serious starvations (read: hangovers), there’s a breakfast burrito stuffed with bacon, hash brown, scrambled eggs, guacamole, salsa, mozzarella, tomato, onion and mayo. As the sun sinks, the sunshine-yellow umbrellas are packed away and it transforms into the Bread + Butter we all know and love.

There’s nothing overly complicated at Kirra Sol Cafe, just really tasty brews and chews that won’t leave you clutching your wallet. Meaning ‘sun’ in Spanish, Kirra Sol is intentionally accessible to help combat Cozzie Livs, but you can be assured of the same standard of quality as its sibling spot. There’s a takeaway window for those who are keen to grab and go, but for those who prefer their brew with a view, there’s a cutch of tables lining the path. Whether you’re fresh from a surf with a hankering for a toastie, or you’re getting the step count in early with a coffee on the run, Kirra Sol is cheap, cheerful and a breath of salty air for the beachside strip. Oh, it’s also dog friendly with treats for fur babies.

Kirra Sol Cafe is now open! Check out the Stumble Guide for opening times.
