If you’ve had your fill of boring desk lunches and tinned tuna, we have some exciting news – the legends at Justin Lane have heard your unenthused sighs and have unveiled Justin’s Sandwich Shop. Nestled in the takeaway nook to the side of the eatery, Justin’s Sandwich Shop is here to fill the void in your belly with beautiful Italian-style sandwiches that are made-to-order and are guaranteed to quash any pesky pangs. Here’s everything you need to know …

Justin Lane needs no introduction. The Burleigh Heads institution has been wining and dining the pizza-loving populace for years with its winning combination of sourdough-style pizza, primo pasta and session-worthy cocktails on the rooftop. Now, there are four more reasons to love the beachside venue and they come in sandwich form. Now, let’s get one thing clear, when we say sandwiches, we’re not talking about two thin slices of bread with a stingy layer of filling – no siree. Justin’s Sandwich Shop utilises the restaurant’s renowned sourdough to create a delightfully doughy sandwich base. The crisp-on-the-outside-fluffy-on-the-inside base is then loaded with pizza-style toppings – think meatball (pork and veal meatballs, fior di latte, napoli and rocket), which is also available with vegan meatballs and vegan mozzarella, ham and salami (ham, salami fior di latte, napoli and mesclun) and crispy eggplant, which is made using Justin Lane’s famous eggplant chips (if you know, you know). Ideal for picnics on the hill, these salivation-inducing sandwiches are essentially an entire pizza in one convenient and easy-to-eat parcel – brilliant!

A couple of important things to note, the sandwiches are only available for takeaway and you have the option to add chips – and let’s be real, chips are always a good idea. There’s also a selection of soft drinks available alongside five of Justin Lane’s most popular cocktails that have been conveniently packaged into ready-to-drink single-serve bottles. There’s an espresso martini, negroni, guava elderflower cooler, mango chili caprioska and a watermelon martini. Now, that’s a picnic! Just don’t forget to BYO rug and a cosy blanket.

Justin’s Sandwich Shop is open from Wednesday to Sunday from midday to 4:00 pm.
