Get your burger fix at Girven Road in Burleigh Heads

Loaded with deep-fried cheese sticks, unbelievably tender pork shoulder and hand-pressed beef, Girven Road’s Say No More burger will leave you a little bit speechless.

Named after a popular thoroughfare in New Zealand, Girven Road is dishing up hearty comfort food that is bursting with good, old-fashioned flavour. Sink your teeth into the fish burger and feel the satisfying crunch of the tempura battered hoki fillet or go meat-free with the vege option, which is quickly earning a reputation among vegetarians and carnivores alike. Round out your feast with a side of sweet potato fries and a beer, wine or cider to wash it down. If there’s room (and let’s be honest, there’s always room for sweets), treat yo’self to the venue’s aptly named Indulgence dessert burger, which is a deep fried bun topped with whipped cream, fruit and strawberry sauce, it is every bit as decadent as it sounds.

Nestled down an alleyway off James Street, next door to Harvest Moon, Girven Road is unapologetically modest. There is no culinary trickery here, with the exception of the sauce, which is a house secret. The eatery is the work of Rhys Horne and was inspired by his grandfather’s fish and chip shop. Rhys has big plans for the place so keep an eye out for sushi nights, ping pong and putting for beer challenges.
