Sink your teeth into an organic burger from Food Kartel

Bite through the slightly crispy spelt multigrain bun and be transported to your culinary happy place with a tender pulled pork, Asian gado gado slaw and green pickle relish burger from Food Kartel.

Food Kartel is the latest addition to the Gold Coast’s fleet of food trucks and dishes up environmentally responsible street food. Think burgers loaded with 100 percent organic grass fed, hormone-free beef and produce that is sourced from local farms and grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides. Even the trailer is solar powered and the packaging is recycled, recyclable or biodegradable. The lads have gone to great lengths to source everything as locally as possible so you can feel good about wrapping your mitts around a burger from Food Kartel. And because a burger without a side of fries is like a day without sun, Food Kartel does four different kinds, classic for the traditionalists, mesquite spiced fries for those who enjoy a little kick to the tastebuds, sweet potato fries and curry cheese fries, which is a traditional Irish favourite.

Chico Green and Trev Braga are the brains behind the new roving restaurant and between them offer 40-odd years in the hospitality industry, so while they’re new on the scene, they’re no rookies. Stalk Food Kartel on Facebook or Instagram or find them at Kendor Street in Arundel on Monday and Tuesday for breakfast and lunch.
