It’s the second most wonderful time of the year – Christmas in July! If you’ve been waiting ever-so patiently to wear your ugly festive sweaters, tuck into a yuletide feast and experience a winter Christmas, then get excited as we’ve rounded up some of the best places to celebrate Christmas in July.

The Collective, Palm Beach: Mark your calendars for the most magical night of the year, as you embark on a delightful culinary sleigh ride at the annual Collective Christmas in July spectacular! On Friday July 28, prepare to be transported to a winter wonderland adorned with twinkling lights, shimmering baubles and delicate snowflakes as you indulge in a four-course festive feast from around the globe. The Chefs from Mazi, TaLA, Umami, Luckie’s and Italian Job will be crafting an unforgettable menu of festive fare. Throughout the night, you’ll be able to wet your whistle with three hours of beer, wine and speciality Canadian Club Christmas cocktail jugs (think gingerbread and candy-cane flavours). Best-dressed prizes are on the cards too, so embrace the spirit of the season by donning your ugliest sweater! After dinner you can enjoy a dazzling rooftop afterparty under the stars, complete with delicious drinks, dancing and DJ tunes. Tickets are $130.50 and can be booked here.

Miss Moneypenny’s, Broadbeach: A luxe Christmas in July lunch awaits at Miss Moneypenny’s on Sunday July 30, with four courses of flavoursome fare and a drink on arrival. Guests will be treated to a specially curated menu by Miss Moneypenny’s head chef Tapos Singha, with the first course of warm charcoal sourdough with aged balsamic and olive oil set to kick things off in spectacular style. Next up is an Australian hot shellfish platter brimming with grilled Morton Bay bug with lobster bisque glaze, King prawns with garlic and fermented chilli butter, baked half-shell scallops with sea-urchin butter and Pacific oysters baked with sauce soubise and bonito creme. The main course comes in the form of rosemary-and-garlic porchetta with baked green apple and gremolata or roast turkey breast with apple and sage stuffing, butternut pumpkin and cranberry jus. They will be served with twice-cooked crispy roast potatoes with garlic and chilli and brussel sprouts with speck, pine needle syrup and pecorino. Dessert is a twist on the classic trifle – a gingerbread trifle with champagne jelly, eggnog, mascarpone cream and strawberries. D’arcy Arms, Surfers ParadiseAs the temps continue to stay low, cosy up by the fireplace for a delicious Christmas feast at D’Arcy Arms Irish Pub in Surfers Paradise. Throughout July, the D’Arcy Arms crew is once again transforming their digs into a festive wonderland for the annual Christmas in July feast. There will be a roaring fire, a succulent Christmas roast, and a delectable dessert. The two-course festive menu includes roast turkey, pork and ham, served alongside seasonal vegetables, Stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, gravy and much more. Sate your sweet tooth with traditional pudding with brandy anglaise and vanilla ice-cream. The delicious Christmas in July feast is $50 per adult or $25 per child (talk about a bargain!). Aviary Rooftop Bar, Southport: Throughout the entire month of July, Aviary Rooftop Bar is transforming into a winter wonderland full of eats, beats and drinks. We’re talking Christmas-themed cocktails by the fireplace, live music and a festive atmosphere. You can enjoy toasty tipples like hot apple cider and mulled wine, while you fill your belly with woodfired pizzas. For dessert, treat your taste buds to lip-smacking s’mores, and imagine you’re living your best Euro winter dreams. If that’s not enough Christmas goodness for you, on Saturday July 22 Aviary will be hosting its White Christmas Party. Dress to impress in all white for your chance to win best dressed, soak up live tunes and sample festive food and drink. From 1:00–3:00 pm, you’ll be able to dive into a delectable two-hour food and beverage package, including yuletide high-tea towers brimming with tasty treats, a festive grazing station and Aviary’s authentic Italian pizzas loaded with Christmas-themed toppings. Along with beer, wine and cider, there are two delicious cocktail creations exclusive to the event that are sure to please your palate – a white candy cane martini on arrival, followed later by a heartwarming eggnog cocktail. Tickets to the White Christmas Party are $69 per person plus booking fee and can be purchased here.

St Bernards Hotel, Mount Tamborine: A winter Christmas feast in Tamborine’s oldest and most iconic pub? Yes, please! Every Saturday night in July, St Bernards Hotel is hosting a special Christmas dinner and live music with all of your favourite Christmas carols. You’ll be able to feast on the likes of king prawns, cauliflower and leek soup and creamy garlic chicken tartlets to start, while the main course is your choice of Atlantic salmon, combination roast, truffle mushroom risotto or braised beef cheeks. Dessert is equally as delectable with your choice of apple crumble or plum pudding. The three-course menu is $80 each and bookings can be made here.

Greendays Restaurant and Bar, Bundall: Eat, drink and dance the winter blues away at Christmas in July at Greendays from July 28–29. Indulge in delicious food, drinks and music by local saxophonist Ben Ferguson while immersing yourself in the festive atmosphere. Dress up in your favourite Christmas attire and get ready for a night of fun and laughter. German Club Gold Coast, Merrimac: Live tunes, mulled wine and special menu items is what you can expect at the German Club’s Christmas in July events, which will be happening across July 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30. The club’s special winter menu is taste bud-tempting to say the least and includes the likes of crispy pork belly with red cabbage, potato mash, apple sauce and gravy and beef goulash with spatzle noodles. If you want to go all out, choose the family feast platter, which is piled high with pork knuckle, German sausages, leberkase, pork belly, sauerkraut chips, gravy, apple sauce and mustard.
