Everyone who has done the frantic hot foot dash from the water to your towel appreciates the sheer athleticism that is required to master a sand-based sport such as beach volleyball. This weekend, you can see the masters in action as the Queensland Beach Volleyball Tour takes over the Surfers Paradise Beach Volleyball Courts. The event kicks off from 8:00 am each day with the finals commencing Sunday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

More than 100 teams including international pairs from Italy, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea will slog it out for supremacy and our general enjoyment. The tour, which has previously produced Olympians Lee Zaher and Natalie Cook, is your chance to get up close and personal with the new crop of representative players including Australia’s number one female team with Louise Bawden and Talique Clancy.
