Sweet tunes and top-notch nosh – Live on The Lawn is heating up your winter evenings
You may have caught the last iteration of the much-loved Live on The Lawn series at The Star Gold Coast’s Garden Kitchen & Bar recently before it wrapped up, and if so it’s likely you were blown away by the totally free event. Well, freebie-loving friends, there’s no need to despair – Live on The Lawn is back for another season! As the sun dips below the horizon, warm up with a sizzling party featuring some of Australia’s favourite live acts and DJs. Live on The Lawn will run every Friday through to Sunday from June 18 to August 15 at Garden Kitchen & Bar, with a deliciously refreshing partner – Canadian Club.
It’s just been announced that The Star Gold Coast will host another unmissable series of free live-music events and DJ sets, spicing up the cooler evenings at The Lawn at Garden Kitchen & Bar. Getting off to a sensational start on June 26 is The Aston Shuffle, dishing out the duo’s signature dancefloor-starting bangers from 8:30 pm for a night that’ll be one to remember. The Australian producer and DJ pair have not only been a mainstay on the Aussie electronic scene for years, but host triple j’s much-loved Friday Night Shuffle – so it’s fair to say, we’ll be expecting big things.
Saturday July 17 will see the iconic Brooke Evers hit the decks, with the local legend delivering her unique brand of electro-house combined with old school bangers – essentially, it’s going to be a night packed with good vibes. Continuing the trend of unmissable talent, Saturday August 7 will feature the powerhouse duo of Tigerlily and JESABEL. JESABEL is not only Australia’s first female DJ to mix a Ministry of Sound compilation, but will be combining her longtime experience at the country’s hottest events with Tigerlily’s festival roots for double the fun. Backing that massive set up on August 13 is Kid Kenobi, who will be spinning his remixes known for working the crowd into a frenzy – with this showcase expected to be no different. Jesse Bloch, known for his stick-in-your-head viral remix of two (very contrasting) tracks – Toto’s ‘Africa’ and High School Musical’s ‘Breaking Free’ – will round out the Saturday night sessions on August 14.
The fun doesn’t end there – for those in favour of a cruisy sunset session before getting back to the Monday grind, head down on a Sunday afternoon to check out McKenzie Band. The local legends make sure they pump out all of our favourites, from old classics to modern-day anthems, while bringing the good vibes in spades. McKenzie Band will be at Live on The Lawn every Sunday from June 20 from 4:00–7:00 pm.
It’s important to keep fuelled for all that partying, so the Container Kitchen will be slinging an array of delicious bites – thinkIf fried chicken sandos, loaded Garden Fries piled high with cheese, smoked bacon bits and sour cream, and truffled mac ‘n’ cheese – perfect to wash down with a Canadian Club and Dry.
