maison balzac x romance was born candle

Romance Was Born develops Maison Balzac candle

In what seems like the perfect affair, boutique candlemaker Maison Balzac and favourite eccentric label Romance Was Born have teamed up to create a limited-edition candle.

The collaboration sees the resulting soy wax olfactory stimulant appeal to both ladies and gents, with a mix of woody masculinity and feminine citrus melding in the candle. Maison Balzac’s Elise Pioch Chappell and Romance Was Born’s Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett developed the scent together, choosing bitter orange zest, cedar leaf, fir needles, crushed cypress, Peru balsam and patchouli as their perfumes of choice.

With only 300 produced, the La Romance candle takes inspiration from daydreaming up a romance set in an enchanted forest, the landscape full of promise and intrigue as well as unexpected adventure. The creative team has employed the talents of Perth artist Ella J. Holme to adorn the candle’s packaging, with each glass holder made by hand and able to be reused in the regular Maison Balzac manner. Pick up this hard-to-find delight at AP Design House in Paddington.
