Get ready to shop up a storm – David Jones now open on James Street
If you’ve been saving your pennies for the arrival of David Jones on James Street, get ready to break open the piggy bank. This Thursday March 30, the highly anticipated boutique shopping destination will open its doors for the first time, giving a glimpse to attendees of this year’s marie claire Up Late event.
Update: Due to the wild weather, marie claire Up Late has been cancelled. While we were looking forward to the event, David Jones will be waiting for us all once the water subsides.
It’s only March and already 2017 has been a big year for James Street. The stylish promenade is getting ready to turn up the heat in the fashion stakes this week, as marie claire Up Late brings some of Brisbane’s most fashionable souls to the area. The event is set to be extra memorable this year, as it coincides with the opening of the newest David Jones boutique, which will be selling all manner of high-end clothing and accessories. The boutique store will be housed in a dynamic, light-filled space, which will stock more than 75 Australian and international brands that are currently unavailable along James Street.
The day will be jam-packed with celebrations and workshops, with David Jones ambassador Jesinta Franklin on hand to kick off the party in style. After the ribbon is cut, shoppers will be invited to participate in beauty masterclasses and fashion workshops, taking in a range of trends and high-end brands. Once happy hour hits, the space will come alive with pop-up bars serving sparkling and canapes, live DJs making people groove and a great atmosphere overflowing from the Up Late celebrations outside. To be first through the doors, arrive for the official welcome and opening at 9:30 am. They say first in is best dressed, so what are you waiting for?
