Scoot on through – Emporium Hotel South Bank offers drive-through takeaway meals and grocery service

With the majority of us self-isolating and spending our time confined to the indoors due to the coronavirus pandemic, our weekly trips to the grocery store can be a little anxiety inducing. Boutique hotel (and Queensland owned-and-operated business) Emporium Hotel has come to the rescue with the launch of Emporium Market – a to-go grocery service available for drive-through pick up or delivery. Not in the mood for cooking? Emporium Foods will look after you with its take-home ready-made meals, or you can enjoy in-suite dining from the comfort (and safety) of your own home. All you have to do is place an order, journey on down to Emporium Hotel’s driveway and your goodies will be handed to you through your window by concierge.

Emporium Hotel South Bank commenced its drive-through takeaway meals and grocery service as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced many people to stay home and stay put. Emporium Market includes a range of pantry, fridge and household staples including milk, eggs, fresh fruit and vegetables, butter, bread, cheese, juice, laundry products, booze (very important), toilet paper (even more important) and much more. There’s even free delivery seven days a week from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, if you live within 500 metres of the hotel.

Those missing their daily dose of caffeine and freshly baked pastry can stop off at Belle Epoque, which is open for takeaway from 6:30 am daily. In addition to its famous sweet treats, pastries and cakes, the eatery is slinging a wide selection of fresh ready-made meals by Emporium Hotel’s executive chef Chris Norman for as little as $9.90, with soups, curries, lasagnes and stone-baked pizzas currently taking up space on the takeaway menu. If you don’t care to lift a finger, Emporium has also crafted a takeaway menu reflecting its in-suite dining, where you can delight in the likes of eggs benedict, crudité, chips and dip, room-service classics like steak and club sandwiches, or decadent braised beef-cheek ragu.

For those who are having trouble self-isolating in their current accomodation, or are wanting to place a vulnerable loved one looking for continuity of basic services, Emporium Hotel has also released a special Isolation Package. The luxe five-star accommodation package starts from $175 per night including free valet parking and free wi-fi. For an extra $50 per person per day, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be delivered straight to your room or for an extra $75 per day, you get all three meals included, plus unlimited in-suite movies and an entertainment pack with drinks and snack replenished daily. You can also enjoy three meals delivered to your home daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, with your choice of breakfast, lunch and dinner for $50 per person per day.

All Emporium Market and Emporium Foods items are subject to availability and can be either picked up from the hotel lobby/concierge drive-through service, or delivered within a 2-km radius of the hotel. To order groceries from Emporium Market call 07 3556 3333 or to order freshly-made meals from Belle Epoque, call 07 3356 3345. For more information or to make n order or booking, visit the Emporium Hotel South Bank website.
