The French Film Festival returns to Palace Cinemas

Do you dress up on weekends in a Breton-striped tee and red beret, hopping from one patisserie to the next, eating croissants and baguettes with brie? Or maybe while away evenings with a little Edith Piaf on the record player, sinking blissfully into dreamy scenes of couples dancing down the magical streets of Paris as the Eiffel Tower twinkles with its hourly show?

For two weeks a year, you can put your imagination to rest and leave the conjuring of pretty Parisian scenes up to the directors of French cinema at the Alliance Française French Film Festival.

This annual peek into French culture is now in its 23rd year, returning to Palace Cinemas for 19 days of fabulous French fanfare. Showing 45 films across genres of action, romance, comedy, thrillers, children’s film and documentaries, the festival is now the largest celebration of French cinema in the world (outside of France, of course).

Showing at both Palace Barracks in Paddington and Palace Centro in New Farm, revel in the passion, heartache and desire of French culture, language and film.
