Queenslanders perform in Puccini’s La bohème

In a world-first initiative, vocally talented Queenslanders will perform in the chorus of Puccini’s La bohème as the new production tours through regional locations across the state.

One of the most romantic operas of all time takes a very unique twist this month as Opera Queensland implores hundreds of Queenslanders to perform in the chorus alongside OperaQ’s principal artists and Queensland Symphony musicians. The world-first initiative saw children and adults across the state battle it out in auditions earlier this year, as Project Puccini gathered the talented troops for a brand-new production of La bohème.

Following a ten-week development program, the chorus members will take part in a regional tour of the production this month. Take a rural roadtrip to catch La bohème in Toowomba tomorrow, Friday August 15, Maryborough next Wednesday August 20, Rockhampton Saturday August 23, Mackay Wednesday August 27, Townsville Saturday August 30 or Mount Isa Thursday September 4. Tickets are available online.
