Creative extraordinaires Kári Gíslason and Richard Fidler team up for an afternoon of conversation and storytelling at Brisbane Powerhouse

Brisbane Powerhouse’s Writers+Ideas series brings together a league of local creative legends, giving audiences an insight to how they work. On Sunday February 27, the New Farm venue will welcome co-authors of the bestselling book Saga Land, Kári Gíslason and Richard Fidler, for an afternoon of conversation and storytelling inspired by Kári’s new novel, The Sorrow Stone.

There’s nothing much better than a couple of drinks and good conversation shared with old friends, and that’s exactly what you can expect when literary luminaries Kári Gíslason and Richard Fidler rock up at Brisbane Powerhouse later this month. Kári is a beloved author and an academic who lectures in Creative Writing at QUT, whose books The Promise of Iceland, The Ash Burner and Saga Land: The island of stories at the edge of the world (the latter written with co-author Richard Fidler) have captured the hearts of readers the world over. His fourth book, The Sorrow Stone, is a compelling novel that reimagines the fate of one of Iceland’s most famous women of history.

On February 27, Kari will join his mate Richard Fidler, an established author of several bestselling books in his own right, for a riveting conversation ahead of the release of The Sorrow Stone. Richard is also a presenter of Conversations on ABC Radio, the most popular podcast in Australia, so this is sure to be one thrilling conversation between buddies. To join Kári and Richard for this special Writers+Ideas event, head to the Brisbane Powerhouse website to grab a ticket.
