Australian-first exhibition David Lynch: Between Two Worlds opens at GOMA

An exclusive-to-Brisbane 50-year retrospective will celebrate the many varied works of American icon David Lynch this month.

The one-and-only David Lynch – the man behind Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet and The Elephant Man – will be making his first Australian public appearance this Saturday March 14 as the highly anticipated exhibition, David Lynch: Between Two Worlds opens at GOMA. As Australia’s very first David Lynch exhibition, the retrospective spans 50 years of the legend’s creative output, from films, TV series and video clips to visual art, photography and music. From lithographs to large-scale paintings and screenings at the Australian Cinémathèque, the exhibition will offer unique insight into David’s creative vision.

A series of special events will also run alongside the exhibition, from curator’s perspective tours by senior curator and head of Australian Cinémathèque, José Da Silva, to free after-hours talks on selected Fridays. On the last three Fridays of the exhibition, the Lynch By Night series will invite visitors to take in the exhibition after hours while enjoying live music, talks, nibbles and drinks, while cult fans can take part in a special Twin Peaks Trivia Night hosted by Man vs Bear Trivia on Wednesday April 15. If you haven’t secured your spot for David Lynch: In Conversation at QPAC, unfortunately tickets have already sold out, but there are still availabilities for two music performances, including a reimagining of the music of Twin PeaksDavid Lynch: Between Two Worlds will close Sunday June 7.
