Spend a summer weekend sipping and snacking with Danielle Alvarez at Harvest Newrybar

When it comes to farm-to-table and produce-driven cooking, Danielle Alvarez is one of the most exciting chefs currently working in the space. Former head chef of two-hatted restaurant Fred’s in Sydney, Danielle blesses every kitchen with her unwavering passion for local and seasonal produce and a thoughtful approach to flavour, which is why a partnership between Danielle and the community-conscious culinary crew at Harvest Newrybar is a match made in foodie heaven. For one weekend only, Danielle will bring her inspired cooking to the Harvest kitchen for some sumptuous summer snacking and sipping, while showcasing some of the very best bounty the local area has to offer.

Nestled within the historic village of Newrybar in the Northern Rivers hinterlands, Harvest is committed to spotlighting the diversity of local produce and supporting the farmers, growers and artisans behind every dish it serves. With a closely shared ethos, Danielle will work with Harvests’ forward-thinking chefs to create a four-course menu, with a focus on the very best locally sourced, summer produce of that week. Think vegetables and bread cooked in Harvests’ historic wood-burning oven, tantalisingly tasty seafood, grilled meats and fruit freshly picked from the famed Piccone Orchard.

If you have been waiting for an excuse to take a trip across the border, now is the time to do so as this culinary collaboration is one you won’t want to miss. Danielle will be taking over the Harvest kitchen for dinner on Friday January 20 and Saturday January 21, and will be wrapping up her summer weekend with a Sunday lunch on January 23. The roster of taste-bud tantalising treats will be $130 per person and $220 with paired wines. Seating will be available from 5:30 pm on Friday and Saturday and 12:00 pm on Sunday.

Head here to secure your spot and start planning a weekend getaway amidst the beauty of the Northern Rivers.
