Chinatown Movie Nights

Switch popcorn for dumplings at Chinatown Movie Nights

Not only home to some of the city’s best Asian fare, Chinatown has also created a special movie night for The Valley’s visitors leading into the New Year. A collection of family-favourite cinematic gems will be screened in the main street on Wednesday evenings for all to enjoy.

The free event has collected a motley crew of 1980s and 1990s cinematic classics, including the likes of Ghostbusters, ET and Labyrinth, as well as Mighty Ducks and Wayne’s World. If you’d like to join the event, movies will be screened under the lavish grand awning of the main strip from 7:00–9:00 pm on Wednesdays. Attendees are invited to pull up a chair (or blanket if desired) and make themselves comfortable for the evening’s proceedings.

If the opportunity to take a trip back in time to see some of your favourite childhood flicks doesn’t tempt you, then the accompanying snackbar surely will. The movie nights will be held in partnership with the renowned Chinese eateries in the area – those who are feeling peckish can indulge in some special dining offers before, during or after the screening. Participating traders include Chingu, Dragon Inn, Superbowl, Hunan, Happy Chef, Green Tea and King of Kings.

@ Chinatown Mall, December 5 to January 23
