Camels and creativity – shop from more than 110 regional and rural stalls at the Buy From the Bush QLD Festival

If you’re keen for a spot of adventure this weekend, clear your diary for this Saturday September 16 as the Buy From the Bush QLD Festival is back at Summer Land Camel Farm! This year’s event is once again bringing together some of the state’s best creatives, makers, growers and artisans to the Scenic Rim. Plus, this time around there will also be a few special guests of the furry variety …

In 2018, a Facebook page was created to help promote and support the small businesses and side hustles of women doing it tough on the land. Since then, Buy From the Bush has blossomed into a thriving online community that champions Australian bush businesses, creatives and family-run endeavours across rural Queensland. The Buy From the Bush QLD Festival is drawing businesses from across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Scenic Rim, Sunshine Coast and even as far as Longreach for a regional showcase – perfectly timed for anyone looking to start their festive shopping early (or are looking for an easy excuse to treat themselves).

The festival will take place at Queensland’s favourite purveyor of fine humps – Summer Land Camel Farm. Not only is Summer Land Australia’s largest commercial camel dairy, but their convenient location, just 45 minutes from Brisbane and 90 minutes from the Gold Coast, has made them a popular pit stop on Scenic Rim road trips. Festival attendees can expect to peruse goods from 110 stalls worth of flavour connoisseurs, winemakers, creators of handmade wares and clothing, tourism providers, entertainers and more. There will also be live tunes, blacksmith demonstrations, farm tours, guest speakers, fire whip cracking and cooking demonstrations. Camels will be available to ride, furry friends from The Llama Farm will be making an appearance, while the talented working dogs from Caviar Kelpies will show off their incredible skills. If you need a city escape, this festival offers the best of the bush all in one place.

The Buy From the Bush Festival is $10 to attend (children under twelve are free) and is taking place from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm at Summer Land Camel Farm in Harrisville. Get your tickets here
