Brisbane Modern Art Gallery opens its doors

Look beneath the pointed steeples of 483 Brunswick Street and you’ll notice a gleaming new arts space aptly named Brisbane Modern Art Gallery.

Like a pulsing heart in the core of Fortitude Valley, Brisbane Modern Art Gallery shares its love for Australia’s most talented and innovative artists. Housed beneath the church designed by Richard Gailey in 1876, the new gallery will showcase a captivating collection of artworks – featuring paintings and ceramic pieces – from emerging, mid-level and established artists.

From May 20–31, the works of lauded artist Jane Donaldson will occupy the new gallery – exhibiting the artist’s carefully considered compositions and her appreciation for the sophisticated nature of human interaction. Art admirers can potter into the newly opened Brisbane Modern Art Gallery space from Tuesday to Saturday each week, and keep abreast of happenings via its Facebook page.
