Win the war on waste at your place with Zero Co cleaning products
Unless you’ve been living under a gigantic rock for the last decade, it’s pretty likely you’re across the devastating impact single-use plastic is having on the world, from chocking our oceans to harming plants and wildlife. Something has to change and if you’re on board and keen to rid your home of single-use plastic, say hello to Zero Co. The Australian-based start-up is calling on all Aussies to help fund the first production of a range of planet-friendly, plastic-busting household products.
The average four person household uses about 200 single-use plastic bottles every year in their kitchen, laundry and bathroom – that’s around one billion across all households nationwide. Zero Co is on a mission to eliminate single-use plastic from homes with its nifty range of planet-friendly cleaning products and personal care items and revolutionary circulatory delivery system. So how does it work? Glad you asked! Zero Co operates on a simple four-step process, you order, they deliver (via carbon neutral channels), you return the pouches via the return envelope that is included in your delivery and they refill them ready for the next customer, it’s just like the milkman, but reimagined. The dispensers are made from plastic waste removed from the ocean and the refill pouches are made from plastic waste diverted from landfill and in addition to being way better for the environment, the products are also kind on purse strings with most Zero Co refills coming in cheaper than regular supermarket varieties.
Within eight days of going live, Zero Co’s Kickstarter campaign had smashed its target of raising $251,313 with more than 2251 Aussies for dishing up the dosh for the good of the planet. The project currently sits at $344,809 from 3,057 backers and still has plenty of time left in the campaign closing on Friday November 15. Keen to jump on board? The pledge packages start at $79 and range all the way up to $10,000 for a lifetime supply, oh and Zero Co’s founder Mike Smith will personally come and clean your dunny. Together we can make a difference and turn off the plastic tap for good.
