who gives a crap toilet paper

Flush for a good cause with Who Gives A Crap toilet paper

The pampered Western world has a cushy relationship with its toilets, with a bevy of three-ply paper and toilet covers at its disposal. The developing world isn’t so lucky, with presently about 40% of the world’s population without even access to a basic loo. Who Gives A Crap Toilet Paper is a colourful product, with an equally colourful name, that is attempting to change this embarrassing measurement as soon as possible.

Behind the paper creation are Melbourne lads Simon, Jehan and Danny, who felt shocked when they learnt of a few heart-rending truths about the world – including that diarrhoea-related diseases put millions of people in hospital beds and lead to the deaths of around 4,000 children each day. The concept is simple – buy the boys’ brand of toilet paper and they promise to donate 50% of its profits to WaterAid. The international non-government organisation is renowned for its efforts to improve safe access to water and hygiene in the globe’s poorest areas.

Since July 2012, the boys behind Who Gives A Crap have been lending WaterAid a hand thanks to their determined efforts and a whole lot of prettily packaged paper. As well as helping those less fortunate, you’ll be able to enjoy the satisfaction of being green as the paper is also crafted from 100% recycled paper and avoids the inclusion of any chlorine, inks, dyes and perfumes.

Who Gives A Crap Toilet Paper is available for purchase online and ships nationally in Australia and the USA (for free).
