Dan Field, Nate Lysons, Nate Devlin and Matt Matthias are four friends that were pining for a Cleveland-based watering hole to wet their whistles with quality craft beer. After waiting became unbearable the group decided to take it upon themselves to bring craft beer to the bay area and thus The Bench was born. Stocking a premium range Australian craft beer on tap and in bottles, the bar has quickly become a popular meeting spot in the Cleveland area. Thirsty punters can enjoy brew from boutique breweries such as Bacchus Brewing, Green Beacon, Stone & Wood, Fortitude Brewing Company and many more. The space interior features handmade furniture, a timber bar and light fixtures using upcycled wooden pallets, creating a raw yet warm space. The gents hope to change the perception of beer drinking towards an appreciation of the increasing complexity and quality of locally produced beers, so stop by for a tipple or two and have a chat to the friendly staff about all things beer.
