Petrichor & Co

A little slice of South America arrived on Racecourse Road in Hamilton in mid-2016, when Petrichor & Co opened to the public. The cafe comes from Paula Moreno and David Ariza, who own Dil Campo Espresso in Kelvin Grove, who were looking to draw influence from their Colombian heritage for this new venture. The cafe boasts a wholesome and earthy feel, from its homemade dishes using organic ingredients to its name, which refers to the smell of earth after rain. The menu offers a variety of meals for early risers and midday munchers, with a South American twist present throughout. Sure-fire winners are the huevos rancheros with chorizo and the power seed almond milk porridge with poached pear and berries. Don’t sleep on the rest of the menu though, with plenty of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options on offer. Coffee lovers will be pleased to know that Petrichor & Co uses Veneziano beans for its brew, complemented by a small selection of tea and Prana chai.
