Friends Carlo Giliberti and Joseph Vecchio had long dreamed of paying homage to their heritage with an authentic Italian restaurant, and in August 2016 the dream became reality when Prova Pizzeria opened in Stafford Heights. The pair shipped in an authentic Stefano Ferrara wood-fired oven from Naples, and brought on Youssef Ben Touati – a world class pizzaiolo – to man the kitchen. In addition to a range of mouth-watering red and white pizzas, patrons can also find antipasto, salumi, cheese, pasta and secondi on the menu, alongside Italian beers, wine and aperitivo. Prova Pizzeria is open Tuesday to Sunday for dinner, with gluten-free bases and takeaway options available.
