Mother-daughter duo Liz Faulkner and Sophie O’Callaghan have recognised that sometimes, healthy food doesn’t taste so good. Ready to remedy this issue, the pair has created a health-focused menu at Karobean Cafe with a huge emphasis on taste. Liz and Sophie aim to educate locals that ingredients they might turn their nose up at – hello brussels sprouts – can actually taste amazing. Almost everything is made in house, from the paleo granola to the paleo pumpkin bread with homemade chilli ricotta or almond butter. The menu is constantly evolving, but you’ll may find the likes of smashed pumpkin with goats cheese on sourdough with pine nuts, or fried brussels sprouts, kale and eggs. Bear Bones Espresso supplies its Papa Bear blend to Karobean Cafe, and you can also sip on teas, milkshakes, smoothies and fresh seasonal fruit juices.
