Those pulling longer hours in The City now have a similarly reliable resource to count on with DBB’s sibling spot, Expedition Coffee Co. Having eyed off an inner-city expansion for a while, DBD’s Carl Fricker had been waiting for the right opportunity to make a move into the CBD coffee scene. With landmark developments like Queens Wharf promising a boom in foot traffic, the time seemed ripe to act. Carl has snagged a cracking site at the base of 111 George Street, just a short skip from Treasury Brisbane. Here the team has exchanged DBD’s hardcore punk-inspired aesthetic for a natural look built by Lowry Group, with earthy colours instilling a dash of outdoorsy charm. Expedition Coffee Co. is pumping out cups of Bellissimo coffee, served alongside doughnuts and treats. Although Expedition Coffee Co. isn’t trading all day and night (at least not for now), it is open longer than just about every other inner-city coffee house.
