D.Vino
D.Vino is a bistro and vinoteca that draws inspiration from the wine bars of northern Italy. The sibling venue to Ashgove vino spot Arcade Wine, D.Vino takes the same attentive service and delivers it in a slightly more refined setting on Jurgens Street in Woolloongabba. D.Vino’s menu features tapas-style shares as well as innovative a la carte options, with a focus on seafood and nods towards Italian and French cuisine. Though the menu will change every few months, early standouts have included the likes of calamari alla griglia, granchio all griglia (homemade sage scones with swimmer crab and buttermilk vinaigrette) and agnolotti al gamberi. In addition to the a la carte offering, expect monthly themed nights where the food and wine of a particular region of northern Italy – think Piedmont and Lombardy – will be showcased via a curated offering. Speaking of wines, D.Vino’s wine list is a heavy tome featuring roughly 200 bottles of vino traversing regions and countries, with a focus on varieties like nebbiolo, barbaresco and barolo. Biodynamic options comprise around 60-percent of the overall selection, with a substantial by-the-glass selection complemented by six special drops dispensed via Coravin and three to four rotating cocktails.
