Citron Bayside

The Venzin Group, the dynamo hospitality team responsible for Melrose, Darvella Patisserie and Pawpaw Cafe, delivered another winner in 2022. Citron Bayside is a colourful coastal Mediterranean-inspired eatery located near the water on Main Road in Wellington Point. It marks a return of sorts for the group’s founder Giorgina Venzin, who spent her childhood years growing up in the Redlands. Darvella Patisserie head chef Lindsay Krahenbring is overseeing Citron’s culinary offering as executive chef, curating an all-day range that includes the likes of fried eggs with house-made pesto and roasted cherry truss tomatoes, grilled king prawns with lemon chickpeas, dukkah and chilli oil, whole baked rainbow trout, celeriac steak with beurre noisette, and roast lamb shoulder with labne and pomegranate. The eats are joined by a tight beverage list encompassing boozy spritzes and a 22-strong wine list. Brew from Lost Race Coffee and Darvella Patisserie’s house made pastries are also available.
