The masterminds behind fine fish institution Portside Fresh N Wild Fish wowed diners with a brand-new concept in 2017, when it started serving up its locally sourced seafood in a bowl at Cheeky Poké Bar. Housed in Haven Newstead, this slower and more intimate poke bowl offering is taking a luxurious approach to the popular foodie trend. The restaurant and bar allows diners to customise their own bowl with fresh or seared fish, chicken, or tofu, alongside Asian-inspired treats such as nori tacos and bulked-up miso soups. Thirsts are quenched by the likes of kombucha on tap, an extensive local beer and wine list, and a selection of colourful cocktails. As the neon signage inside the venue says, ‘it’s poké to be cheeky’, so don’t be afraid of having fun with your lunch!
