Black Ink Espresso

Cameron Smith turned his love of coffee into a fully fledged career in the industry after working across several aspects of the business over the past four years. Cameron fell in love with the process of developing unique single origins and his own blends, so decided to shift from working for a local roaster to starting his own outfit Black Ink Coffee. Black Ink Espresso saw Cameron take his roasting operation to new heights, opening a specialty coffee cafe at the Brisbane Technology Park in 2016. The modern and relaxed cafe boasts a lived-in aesthetic, and offers an all-day breakfast and lunch menu that utilises seasonal ingredients. Patrons are encouraged to try the Black Ink Brekky Burger, which layers thick-cut bacon, fried egg, haloumi and caramelised onions on a Japanese Milk Bun. Lunch munchers should try the Philly cheesesteak roll, served with mushrooms, capsicum and cheese. Most importantly, Black Ink Espresso prides itself on its coffee – bringing in a three group V3 Slayer espresso machine, paired with two Compak F10 grinders and a Mahlkonig Ek43 as well as a three drip station pour over bar for V60 filter coffee.
