Bishamon Japanese Restaurant

One could easily be forgiven for missing Bishamon Japanese Restaurant, a little hidden gem in the heart of Spring Hill’s business district. Don’t be fooled by its inconspicuous location – this unassuming Japanese restaurant is serving up some of the finest Japanese fare in Brisbane. The exposed brick walls and archways reveal the age of the old building, complimented by Japanese decor in the form of beautiful paper lampshades hanging from the ceiling and prints adorning the walls. Delicate sashimi is sliced thinly and carefully arranged like a piece of art. Lacey crisp gyoza is accompanied by a perfectly mixed dipping sauce and the takoyaki is lashed with Japanese mayonnaise, okonomi sauce, aonori and katsuobushi flakes. The all-you-can-eat Sukiyaki Hot Pot special is a standout, with wafer thin marbled wagu beef, Japanese vegetables and a flavoursome broth that invites diners to cook themselves and enjoy with the company of loved ones.
