The hits keep coming for Wynnum, which has been enjoying a boom in brand-new food and drink concepts. Bayside locals had their carb cravings well and truly satisfied with the arrival of Banette – a French-inspired bakery and cafe that opened in the heart of Wynnum in November 2023. Taking over the site previously home to The Coffee Club on Bay Terrace, Banette Bayside is larger than its sibling locations in Rosalie and West End. With that in mind, the team has room to offer more than just its jaw-dropping array of baked goods (which includes breads, croissants, cruffins, kouign amanns, croque monsieurs, eclairs, macarons and gluten-free flans). Guests will soon be able to sit down and enjoy a tight menu of breakfast items (think avocado toast and brekkie sandwiches with a buttery croissant as a bun) as well as top-notch coffee from Noosa-based first specialty roaster Clandestino.
