Ardo’s is a new wine bar and bottle shop concept from the City Winery team, which will be opening in Newstead in late February in the spot previously occupied by Carl’s. The City Winery team is giving the 40-seat space a facelift, adding some high-end touches like marble stone bar tops and rendered-concrete finishes. Ardo’s will stock a selection of 80–100 wines from Australian and international makers, available to take away or enjoy on site (a rotating selection of seven to ten wines will be available by the glass), while also doubling as a micro cellar door for City Winery wines, with guests able to book in for a wine tasting or one of the signature City Winery experiences. On the snack front, Ardo’s will offer an assortment of toothsome pintxos, inspired by the wine bars of San Sebastian.
