Da Biuso
Restaurants come in all shapes and sizes, but not many are mobile. Da Biuso is a 12-seater degustation restaurant housed inside a converted school bus. Owned and operated by Biagio and Sarah Biuso, the brains behind long-running Fortitude Valley’s Casa Nostra Ristorante, Da Biuso sees the couple embrace a style of multi-course fine-dining experience that Casa Nostra had made a specialty during the pandemic. The team has linked up with Van Demons Vans to transform the vehicle’s interior, installing a dining space, a small bar and a 4.1-sqm kitchen, as well as applying an aesthetic that is both classic and elegant, but with modern touches. Biagio is joined in the kitchen by son Joseph, with the two chefs crafting and dispensing an ever-changing, multi-course offering that is broadly European inspired, but with some Sicilian influences. Sarah is overseeing the restaurant’s drinks offering, which will boast a revolving selection of Italian wines, as well a small clutch of cocktails, aperitifs and digestifs. Da Biuso will park at different sites around Brisbane, including its current location at Brett’s Wharf in Hamilton, so keep your eyes on Da Biuso’s socials for news on its movements.
