Tropic Vice
Tropic Vice is unlike anything the Gold Coast has seen before. Perched above the Nobby Beach dining strip, the sun-drenched rooftop venue offers a kind of Palm Springs, California, meets Miami, Florida, kind of vibe with different sections scattered across the space. The grassy garden bar – shaded by candy-pink umbrellas – is the ideal spot for a couple of casual cocktails in the sunshine, while the deck lined with high tables is the ideal perch for long lunches and grazing. The neon-lit podium provides an elevated viewing platform to soak in the good vibes as the sun dips below the horizon. As for the fare, the menu is being hailed as ‘Florribean’ cuisine – combining the flavours of the Caribbean and South America – think oysters, chilli-and-garlic prawns topped with fresh mango salsa, deliciously light and fresh white fish ceviche. The drinks list, curated by Vincent Valliere, is equally as impressive with Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé and the venue’s signature Vice Martini (vodka, passion fruit puree, pomegranate syrup and mint leaves) among the standouts.
