You usually don’t call juice bars quaint, but that’s exactly what Fresh Garden Cafe in Coolangatta is. An eclectic mix of furniture and ornaments dress this hole-in-the-wall juicery and sandwich bar, which has a constant ebb and flow of customers eager to get their fill of liquid goodness and more. Blenders are a big hit, made from 93% fat-free yoghurt, ice, honey, nuts and dates and blended with a range of fresh fruit or pureed berries, but the fresh juices (all 20 of them) and acai bowls are the specialty. Good old-fashioned fresh salad sandwiches are also available and overflowing with ingredients, the way they used to be.
