Bun Lee

Bun Lee is here to fill the void for fast, fresh and healthy lunches on-the-go. The pastel-hued haven has transformed the former Soul Bowl site on James Street in Burleigh Heads into a tasty takeaway nook that specialises in banh mi rolls, bao buns and cold-brew coffee. For the uninitiated, banh mi is a crisp baguette roll loaded with your choice of meat or tofu alongside traditional Vietnamese fillings such as carrot, coriander, cucumber and chilli. The set-up is similar to what you might expect from a Zambrero or Subway, where you choose your protein and then your filling. Bun Lee also offers a succinct selection of grab-and-go rice paper rolls that are made in-house daily , as well as bao buns and vermicelli-salad bowls that are made fresh to order by the venue’s Vietnamese-trained chef. Wash it down with a cold-brew coffee, which is served straight-up or topped with your choice of milk or plant-based mylk.
