Embrace those sweet vacay vibes at Nobby Beach’s The Holliday. Coffee

Is there any greater feeling than the one that envelops you when you’re on holidays? We think not. Time suddenly becomes somewhat superfluous and ultimately comes down to the question – is it too late for coffee, or too early for wine? Things taste better when you’re on holidays, too. If you’re in need of a holiday but island hopping in Greece isn’t on your travel bingo card for this year, sashay into the new coffee spot in Nobby Beach and soak up all of those sweet, sweet vacay vibes, it’s almost as good as the real thing. Here’s everything you need to know about The Holliday. Coffee …

It’s always a good sign when you approach a newly opened cafe or restaurant and there’s already a bunch of locals congregating over a chat and a coffee. This is the exact vibe the owners of The Holliday. Coffee in Nobby Beach were hoping to create. The coffee window can be found at the side of Okawari House and is the latest caffeine-centric venture from Marcus Wilkins, co-owner of Burleigh’s institution coffee house Nook Espresso, who has joined with his partner Liv Ayres, who has also been in the hospitality industry for the past decade. Together, they’ve created a casual coffee slinger that aims to capture those relaxed sun-soaked holiday vibes with peachy-yellow striped umbrellas and a scattering of high tables.

The Holliday. Coffee pours Melbourne’s ST. ALi Wide Awake blend, which as Marcus explains is very much at the speciality coffee end of the spectrum. Peckish? There’s also a scattering of crumpets, croissants and steamy jaffles on offer in six delightful combos to choose from, including the simple-but-delicious Three Cheeses, the decadent Banana & Nutella and the childhood classic Spaghetti & Cheese. “It’s not just coffee, it’s the whole vibe – we want people to come in like they’re on holidays to enjoy a toasted sandwich and a crumpet,” Marcus says. “We wanted to do simple things but do them really well.” In a hurry? Marcus and Liv are rolling out an online pre-ordering system through the app Hey You so you can grab and go.
