Theatrical fine dining – top-tier teppanyaki-style bites await at Hatsuhana Japanese Restaurant

Soaring flames, theatrical chefs and delicious Asian-inspired bites – a teppanyaki dinner is always a fun night out. The Gold Coast is home to a truly exciting teppanyaki dining destination called Hatsuhana Japanese Restaurant – and if you haven’t yet pulled up a chair at this culinary gem, then allow us to paint you a pretty picture of what your night will look like …

Your perch at Hatsuhana Japanese Restaurant can only be described as a front-row seat to the theatre, except here you will get dinner and a show for the price of one. You’ll be seated in front of a teppanyaki grill, where skilled chefs stand ready to thrill you with a bag of culinary tricks – think egg tossing, heart-shaped fried rice and vegetable trains. There are four different teppanyaki sets to choose from, with diners able to kick off the feast with miso soup and green salad before tucking into dishes like grilled atlantic salmon, grilled prawns, hibachi rice, black Angus beef ribeye and a range of hibachi vegetables. Of course, dessert is included too with matcha ice-cream with summer berry compote sure to please your palate. The flamboyant affair is the perfect family-friendly dinner, with youngsters sure to love the thrilling food stunts and the kids teppanyaki set.

Teppanyaki might be the MVP here, but Hatsuhana’s mouth-watering menu extends to a la carte options too, with fresh sashimi and sushi another star of the show. You can ignite your taste buds with salmon, yellowfin tuna, kingfish and scallop sashimi, or dig into California rolls, soft-shell crab rolls and salmon, prawn and avocado rolls. Tempting dishes like karaage chicken, crisp fried tofu in dashi broth and bonito flakes, and prawn tempura also grace the menu alongside grilled wagyu-beef sirloin, grilled barramundi and chicken teriyaki. You can wet your whistle with a tipple from the extensive drinks menu, which features wine, beers, champagne, sake, Japanese spirits, and cocktails.

Hatsuhana Japanese Restaurant is open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday from 4:45–9:00 pm. If you’re keen to max out on entertainment value, make a booking for teppanyaki or a la carte dining via the Sea World Resort website. Flaming onion stacks, here we come!
