Kick-start the long weekend at Taste the Tweed foodie fest

Foodies listen up – start the long weekend on a high note with a quick drive south of the border this Friday September 30 to soak up the culinary diversity of Northern NSW at Taste the Tweed foodie event.

The paddock-to-plate showcase kicks off in Murwillumbah’s Wharf Street from 6:00 pm, with the street to be transformed into a marketplace of the Tweed’s best cafes, restaurants and chefs to showcase region’s gastronomic diversity, with the renowned local produce as the hero. Armed with your food trail map, you’ll be taken on a delightful culinary journey as you soak up the ambience of the marketplace and take yourself from restaurant to restaurant enjoying the tastes and talents driving the Tweed region’s bustling food scene.

With a progressive dinner theme, foodies are encouraged to book the best seats in the house for $15 or grab your mates and secure a table of ten for a fabulous night under the stars. There will be plenty of room if you’d rather BYO chair. Restaurants and chefs will be serving up an array of delicious tasting plates for $6 and $12, with a cashless coupon system in place (coupons are pre-purchased). The one-night event, which is designed to highlight to local food scene through a unique outdoor dining experience, is set to give a true reflection of the region’s growing culinary status. With live entertainment by the Seven Deadly Swingers, this foodie fest is sure to set the bar high for your long weekend ahead.
