Eat (and drink) your way south at the Northern Rivers Harvest Food Festival

The Northern Rivers region is well-known for its understated richness when its comes to fresh, quality produce. From Friday May 5 to Sunday May 7, the Harvest Food Festival will bring the northern New South Wales region to life in a culinary showcase like no other. This is one foodie fest that is well and truly worth driving south of the border for.

The festival will kick off at Byron Bay’s Cape Byron Distillery (the home of Brookie’s gin) on Friday May 5, with a stylish afternoon featuring the ultimate distillery experience, a rainforest tour and a botanicals sensory experience. Savour the sweet goodness of Bangalow pork on a spit, plus cheese and salumi plates, all washed down with tastes of Brookie’s, which is Byron Bay’s first rainforest-infused gin.

While Saturday’s ‘foodie bus tour’ has already sold out, Sunday’s event (May 7) will also hit the road (limited tickets are still available) to showcase some of the finest local producers in the region – think strolls through local farms, bush food experiences, and hands-on meet and greets alongside festival host Angela Catterns. The festival will wrap up at Coronation Hall in Clunes with the Rustic Harvest Finale Feast – a communal-style dining experience prepared by renowned chef Francisco Smoje, that is set to showcase the best of the region’s produce. Tickets are selling quick – head over here to book.
