Global theatre sensation Come From Away is now showing at HOTA

HOTA has welcomed some truly incredible entertainment recently, with stage shows, live gigs and family-friendly pop-ups aplenty. The next jewel to be fixed to the venue’s crown is the Tony and Olivier award-winning musical Come From Away, which tells the jaw-dropping true story of what happened shortly after the September 11 attacks, when the world was in a state of shock, turmoil and grief.
The heart-warming stage show follows the passengers of the 38 planes that were ordered to land unexpectedly in a small town in Newfoundland, Canada. The characters in the musical are based on (and even, in some cases, share the names of) the real residents as well as some of the 7000 stranded travellers they cared for, who the Native Newfoundlanders refer to as “come from aways”.
