A steel fabricator by trade, Jim Keleher dust off his old tools from his boat building days following an unsuccessful mission to buy a wooden mirror. Gazing at his reflection, feeling mighty chuffed with his efforts, the seed for JK Designs was planted. A year on, Jim spends his weekends sourcing and stockpiling recycled hardwood to make a myriad of things from buffets to beds for Gold Coasters who appreciate quality over quantity.
A true craftsman, Jim refuses to outsource anything and only uses hearty old hardwood as it’s better looking than manufactured timber you buy from the hardware store, he says.
