Feeding time at the zoo takes on a whole new meaning every Friday evening from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm as Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary hosts The Sanctuary Markets on The Village Green.

If chilling out on a Friday evening with some delicious food, cold beers and live music sounds like your idea of a great night, get along to The Sanctuary Markets at Currumbin. Possibly the Gold Coast’s best kept secret, the markets bring together 29 food vendors from all corners of the globe including Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, Brazilian, South African, Indian, Italian Turkish and Greek cuisine to feed the masses. Munch on Dan’s Dim Sims, Ultiburger and A La Carte Aromas and kick back with some beers from Burleigh Brewing Co. If you’re still not stuffed from all of that food, there is a bounty of pastries and desserts prepared with pride from Little Sprinkles Bakery. The Sanctuary Markets also offers arts and crafts, ladies fashion stalls as well as farmer’s produce.

The Sanctuary Markets began in September last year as an ancillary activity of the Wildlife Sanctuary to financially support its Animal Hospital. The event is family-friendly however due to quarantine restrictions, you are unable to bring your furry family members.

UPDATE: The Sanctuary Markets have been cancelled for Friday February 20 due to severe storm warnings.
