Celebrate surf culture at Cutback: Surfing Through Art

For surfers, the act of surfing is more than a casual hobby or way to spend idle time, it’s a way of life. It’s apparent in the way you dress, the way you speak and the company you keep. To be a surfer is all encompassing. It’s a lifestyle choice.

Cutback: Surfing Through Art holds a mirror up to the surfing community and responds to the art of surfing and alternative aspects of the culture. Each of the seven artists represented in this exhibition extend beyond the literal representation of surfing, the beach and waves. They delve into the depths of both universal cultural and personal histories to address matters not conventionally thought possible in the domain of surf culture.

Cutback: Surfing Through Art will be unveiled from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm tomorrow night but will be available for viewing from February 14 through to March 22.
