Tuck in to a free lunch at Think.Eat.Save

Tuck in to a free lunch at Think.Eat.Save

You know the saying, there’s no such thing as a free lunch? Well, as it turns out, there is. You’re invited to fill your belly for a good cause at Think.Eat.Save.

As a nation we throw out $8 to 10-billion worth of food every year, that’s more than 345 kilograms per household. If that figure makes you feel a touch uncomfortable, the good news is that you can be part of the solution simply by enjoying a free hot lunch on Monday July 27. What’s the catch, you ask? No catch, just amazing quality produce that would have otherwise ended up in landfill. The only thing that is asked in return is that you pledge your commitment to reduce your own personal food waste.

The event, now in its third year, is an initiative from OzHarvest, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) to highlight the issue of food waste in this country. Think.Eat.Save is being held simultaneously in cities around Australia including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Adelaide, Newcastle, Sapphire Coast and Port Macquarie. Pop in to OzHarvest’s pop-up restaurant The 4217 between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm and enjoy a free lunch for an amazing cause. It’s completely free however however you do have to register your attendance prior to the day. RSVP to Think.Eat.Save.
