Lanesplitter Garage pops up in Paddington

Bringing a new breed of retailer to the streets of Paddington is Lanesplitter Garage – a motorcycle culture pop-up shop running throughout June.

Just more than two years ago, two mates Ben Yee and Hilton Jones got hooked on building their first custom motorcycle, leading the pair to launch an online store. IT programmers by day and motorcycle builders by night, Ben and Hilton began documenting their backyard builds on a blog, before writing and developing an application for themselves and others to use to keep track of time, expenses and photographs of each build’s progression. The application, BuildBoard, works simultaneously with Instagram to keep track of builds – whether a motorcycle or airstream restoration is your vehicle of choice.

Bringing a bit of WD-40, grease and oil to the boutique-heavy scape of Paddington, the Lanesplitter Garage pop-up shop showcases BuildBoard and a small selection of parts – brands that the lads trust and use themselves – as well as hand-painted unique helmet designs and digitally printed t-shirts. Slowly expanding to embrace and explore all elements of motorcycle culture, Lanesplitter Garage can be found along Latrobe Terrace for the month of June.
