Typography gets a masculine makeover with Manly Marks

Typography tends to be associated with pretty wedding invitations, gift cards and other papier items that the lady of the house would usually reign over. But gentlelads of the world should be entitled to enjoy this greasy, gritty craft as well, as is the mission of Brandon Griswold from Dallas, Texas.

Brandon is a graphic designer for Fossil and a printmaker under the name Honeycomb Print Shop. Having discovered his now beloved craft of letterpress five years ago, Brandon now wishes to create a testament to all things manly in the form of a letterpress-printed, hand-bound book on manhood.

Accustomed to a rugged lifestyle, Brandon is well versed in beard growing, bear wrestling, handiwork, firm handshakes, camping in the wilderness and bacon consumption. His book Manly Marks will enclose mini essays on 25 of the most enduring manly customs of manhood – an item one would be proud to display on the coffee table and pass down to the kids.

To help Brandon realise his dream of sharing his expert knowledge in such a gentlemanly form, support the project on Kickstarter before March 17.
