Goodlife Feel Good Program, South Bank

Get fit for summer with free classes at South Bank

Locking yourself in a musty room of sweaty bodies as you attempt to rid your shape of all those winter stews and hot chocolates is not the most appealing setting for renewal. But with the last of the day’s rays sun-kissing your shoulders, cool breezes drifting off the Brisbane River and watching the sky turn from emerald to pink to deep blue, exercise can be quite the delight.

With spring settling in and summer beginning to reveal its true colours, being outdoors while giving your body the health kick it deserves is no longer a chilly inconvenience. Returning for a second series this week is the Goodlife Feel Good Program at South Bank. Hosted by South Bank Corporation in partnership with Goodlife Health Clubs, this series of free outdoor fitness classes lets you get active outdoors under the guidance of qualified fitness instructors.

Held among the South Bank Parklands, the Goodlife Feel Good Program features classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, ranging from the energetic to the relaxing. The Energy class is a fast-paced, calorie-burning athletic workout on the Little Stanley Lawn, while the Mind and Movement class combines Pilates, yoga and tai chi. Aqua aerobics is also held at the Boat Pool every Saturday morning and a new dance class combines moves from Latin, hip-hop and funk. The program kicks off this week and continues through to Saturday December 1.
