Aeon Ferris Brisbane

Ride the fashion wheel with Aeon Ferris

Aeon Ferris has been created for the girl with two suitcase loads of clothing tucked behind her bedroom door. Clothing that doesn’t see the light of day and may not have been worn in years. Clothing that has the potential for someone else to treasure or simply wear once, passing the item forward again through resale.

Taking the idea that fashion is like a ferris wheel, with cyclical styles and trends, some staying on for multiple rounds, others enjoying a short, fast ride, Aeon Ferris operates as clothing consignment. Ladies and lads will make an appointment with local creators Taylor Mitchell and Swan Davies, bring along the items they want to sell, discuss price points, and when their items sell via the Facebook shop or weekly market stall, donators will receive half of the sale funds back. Taking on both vintage pieces and current season stock, Aeon Ferris will run a stall at the Valley Markets as well as selling select pieces from its collection via Facebook.

Co-creator Taylor is studying journalism and contributes to Pitch Zine, while Swan is the office manager at Expressions Dance Company and is in both a folk and metal band. Having bonded over a mutual love of clothing and the ever-present need for new outfits, Taylor and Swan channelled that passion into starting a market stall to sell their own unwanted threads, before friends started asking them to sell their pre-loved fashions too. And so the idea for Aeon Ferris was born, creating an avenue for ever-afresh wardrobes on a budget.

Check out the first drop of goods at the Aeon Ferris launch this Saturday at the Valley Markets in Brunswick Street Mall.
